The Difference Between GCP Certification and CRA Certification

As per Bruce Kriger, CEO of Kriger Research Group International www.kriger.com , leading training institution and clinical research organization, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines is a general document used by various clinical research professionals who perform different functions in clinical research. Coordinators, project managers, clinical investigators, quality assurance and regulatory affairs specialists, clinical data managers, and many others use Good Clinical Practice in their daily work.

Clinical Research Associate certification ensures that the certified professional has shown the knowledge needed to apply GCP to clinical research associate (clinical monitor) functions. This is a whole new realm, requiring real “know-how” beyond simple knowledge of the GCP.

This is why employers don’t hire CRA’s without experience, even if they have GCP certification. Experience ensures that the prospective candidate not only knows what is to be done, but also how to do it.
